There are seasons in every journey when progress slows, not because the vision has faded, but because life demands resilience.
Over the past year, Star & Shield Clothing experienced one of the most difficult periods in our history. A hand injury caused by a puncture from a rusty nail left me unable to work at full capacity for an extended period. As a founder of an independent cultural brand, every design, every order, and every project depends heavily on personal involvement. Recovery took time, patience, and faith. While we were dealing with that challenge, our online systems suffered a cyberattack in March that compromised customer orders and disrupted our normal operations.
Behind the scenes, we worked tirelessly to restore our systems, strengthen security, and protect the integrity of our business. The difficulties did not end there.
Our manufacturing center in Monrovia, Liberia, was burglarized, resulting in the loss of equipment and materials that had taken years to assemble. At the same time, ongoing legal matters demanded significant attention and resources. Taken together, these events forced what can only be described as a complete reset. Yet every reset presents an opportunity to rebuild stronger than before.
Today, I am grateful to say that Star & Shield Clothing is moving forward with renewed purpose. We have learned valuable lessons, strengthened our foundation, and remain committed to preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage of Africa and its diaspora through art, fashion, education, and storytelling.
What’s Coming Next

The next chapter of Star & Shield Clothing is filled with exciting projects. One of our flagship initiatives will be the continuation of the Masktape™ Series by Tekpwfari El Ra, expanding the Camarilla Mask™ universe through cultural essays, royal decrees, visual storytelling, and historical exploration of West African masking traditions. We will also proudly continue our annual Marcus Garvey and You tradition by producing commemorative shirts and educational pamphlets honoring the life, philosophy, and enduring legacy of Marcus Mosiah Garvey. This project remains one of our most meaningful annual releases and reflects our commitment to Pan-African education.
In addition, we are preparing an entirely new collection inspired by the Afrotropical Region, featuring handcrafted necklaces, cultural masks, and wearable art celebrating the diverse peoples, traditions, and symbolism of Africa’s tropical landscapes. These collections represent more than fashion—they represent identity, history, resilience, and remembrance.
Looking Ahead

Star & Shield Clothing has never been just another apparel company. Our mission has always been to preserve culture, tell forgotten stories, and inspire future generations through meaningful design. Every setback has reminded us why this work matters. To everyone who has supported us, prayed for us, waited patiently for your orders, and continued believing in our vision—thank you. Your encouragement has carried us through some of our darkest moments. The frontier before us is new. The mission remains the same. We are back. And together, we will continue building a legacy rooted in culture, craftsmanship, and Pan-African excellence.
Welcome to the next chapter of Star & Shield Clothing.
